“OHANA” – Hawaiian for “Family”

In 2015, Roscel & I pulled the trigger and moved away from our family, careers, and dance community in NJ/NY to start a new chapter of our lives in Oahu, Hawaii. We didn’t have any blood relatives in Hawaii but we quickly realized that Ohana isn’t just about being related by blood. Our friends & students became our “Dance Ohana” Each & everyone one of you are now part of our “Dance Ohana” and we feel truly blessed to have you as part of our family.

While there is plenty of dancing here on Oahu, we saw an opportunity to introduce, grow, & nurture a new dance community…specifically a Hustle dance community. In the process, it became so clear that while we looked to change dance in Hawaii, dancing in Hawaii also changed us so much. It’s a feeling that is difficult to explain but so easy to feel.

Oahu Danzventure Hustle 2023 is in the books! You will always be part of our Dance Ohana…you have changed dancing in Hawaii…and you have opened your hearts to having Hawaii change you. Mission accomplished!

Did we have our share of hiccups? Plenty, but we will learn from them and come back stronger to make our next version stronger. We have planted the seeds and we know we that we have something special here…a Danzventure…a truly unique dance event unlike any other. We look forward to continuing our journey with you!
